Cheshire & Merseyside Social Work Teaching Partnership (CMSWTP) comprises 15 Primary Partners, including:

All covering Liverpool City Region, West Lancashire, Warrington, Cheshire West and Chester.
Our Vision
The Vision of the CMSWTP is to improve the life chances of children, young people, adults and their families by improving the recruitment, retention and the training and development of social workers and their practice.
Our Aims
Efficient Partnership Management: Ensure effective management and organisation of partnership activities, including administration, to maintain agility in responding to local, regional, and national initiatives.
Enhancing Practice Educators and Mentors: Review and improve the training, development, and utilisation of Practice Educators and Mentors to sustain a robust supply of high-quality placements and deliver effective continuing professional development (CPD) for these roles.
High-Quality Student Placements: Guarantee that all students enrolled in Social Work programmes receive timely, high-quality placements aligned with their preferred learning areas, supported to achieve their learning outcomes.
Inclusive Participation: Promote widening participation and engagement across all aspects of pre-qualifying and post-qualifying Social Work education and training.
Strengthening ASYE Support: Review and enhance Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programmes to ensure consistency and quality across the region.
Collaborative Knowledge Co-Production: Foster a strategic approach to engagement by nurturing co-production of knowledge among People with Lived Experience, practitioners, students, and academics to influence practice and systemic change across the Social Work landscape.
Accessible Post-Qualifying Training: Provide accessible and relevant Post-Qualifying Social Work training and development opportunities that reflect shared priorities among partners.
Strategic Workforce Development: Remove barriers to establish a strategic approach to Social Work recruitment and retention, including support for Return to Social Work initiatives, encompassing the journey from pre-qualifying education through to post-qualifying practice and development.
