Warrington is a progressive North West borough council, with excellent transport links between Merseyside, Cheshire and Manchester. We are actively engaged in Step up to Social Work, Frontline and Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE). Caseloads are well-managed and students’ contributions valued. We receive good feedback about being an ideal place to train and develop in social work. There are placement opportunities in teams with expertise in the following areas;

  • Over 65s Adults; Assessment and support for older adults using strengths based approaches
  • Under 65s Adults; Assessment and support for adults in need of care and support using strengths based approaches
  • Children in Need; Help and protection for children and families. Specialist statutory social work using systemic based practice and relationship based practice
  • Permanency & Fostering; Help and protection for children and families. Specialist statutory social work using systemic based practice and relationship based practice.

We are also developing placements in:

  • First response team
  • Preparation for adulthood
  • Integrated Hospital Discharge
  • Intermediate Care Services
